Terms of sale

Lebego is a marketplace. Some products are Lebego's own stock, and some belong to independent sellers who list through us on consignment. Every product page names the seller.

Either way, your order, your payment, and any problem with it are handled by Lebego. You do not have to chase a seller yourself.

Every product on Lebego funds a community organization — a church, school, or non-profit project. This is not optional and not a rounding up at checkout: it is part of the price you see.

The share that goes to the community is set per product, and the product page tells you which organization it supports and at what rate before you add it to your cart. When your payment settles, that share is routed to the organization's own account automatically.

• All prices are in Ethiopian Birr and include VAT where Lebego is registered to charge it.
• The price you pay is the price on the product page at the moment you check out. We re-price your basket from our own records at checkout, so a stale page cannot charge you the wrong amount.
• Payment is handled by Chapa. Your card or wallet details go to Chapa directly and never reach Lebego's systems.
• Your order is confirmed when Chapa confirms the payment — not when you are redirected back to the site.

Stock is reserved for you when you check out, and released again if the payment does not complete or you cancel. If an item sells out between your adding it to the cart and paying, checkout will tell you rather than take the money.

The options and fees offered depend on where you are. At checkout you will see what applies to your address:

• Pick up yourself — free; we share the collection location.
• Standard delivery within Addis Ababa — typically 1–2 business days.
• Express delivery within Addis Ababa — same-day dispatch for orders placed before 3pm.
• Regional delivery outside Addis Ababa — typically 3–5 business days.

Timings are the courier's normal service, not a guarantee. If a parcel does not arrive, that is exactly what a case is for — see returns & refunds.

You can cancel any order yourself before it is dispatched, and raise a case afterwards. Both are set out in full under returns & refunds, which forms part of these terms.

Accounts are identified by phone number and verified with a one-time code sent by SMS. Keep access to your number: it is how you sign in and how we recognise your orders. Tell us promptly if you lose control of it.

Sellers register with their TIN and sign a consignment agreement electronically, using an SMS one-time code as the signature. That signature is valid under Ethiopian Proclamations No. 1205/2020 and No. 1072/2018. Each signed agreement is archived as a fixed PDF with an integrity hash, and a seller can request their copy at any time.

Lebego operates as a digital consignment retailer under a Retail Trade Licence. Sellers keep ownership of consigned stock until it sells.

We may update these terms. The terms that apply to an order are the ones published when you placed it, and the date above tells you when this version took effect.
